Welcome to WigWom Villa, Afrata
Our villa is located just above the village of Afrata in Crete.
Afrata is a village on the Rodopulos peninsula. The usual route is to drive up the twisting cliff side road from Kolymbari. If you carried on up the mountain through Astragios to a T junction and turned left you would descend back towards the old coast road. On reaching the road if you turned left you would reach Kolymbari at the cross roads in the centre of town.
Afrata has a mini market, a visiting Doctor and good local tavernas. There is a rocky beach with cantina, used by the locals about a kilometre away down the mountain. We have walked down to it in about 20 minutes one evening, it will take longer to climb back up the slope. As you descend you will see a chapel up to your left, tended by local people. Further on down you may see up to your left a car balancing on the side of hill. This belongs to local chap tending to his goats, which are everywhere.
It is possible to see to the main coast and the White Mountains.
